Local models, local processing
Mokki uses local models for chat, documents, recordings, and images. Conversations, original files, indexes, and models are stored locally. This website has no endpoint for uploading that content.
Local doesn’t mean never online
Model downloads, app updates, weather, web searches, and reading web pages need a connection. Public queries go to the selected service, and model downloads connect to their file hosts. Combined library and web retrieval uses separate public questions, rather than sending retrieved private passages to a search engine.
What this website collects
This website does not use analytics SDKs, advertising scripts, third-party fonts, user accounts, or tracking cookies. When you request a page, download, or update feed, the server still receives connection information such as your IP address, request path, and browser or client details. Access logging is configured by the site operator.
Downloads and update checks
Downloads and update feeds are served over HTTPS. Checking for updates does not require uploading conversations, documents, or recordings. SHA-256 checks file integrity; in-app updates also require signature verification. A checksum alone is not a reason to trust an executable.
A local API you control
The local API uses API key authentication. Keep keys private, just as you would passwords. Don’t send them to this website or publish them in a repository. The personal library is not currently available through the API.
This describes the current product and website. “Local first” does not mean that no network requests ever occur. Connected services also have their own privacy policies.
